The Prosecution of Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina requested the extension of custody for suspect Ilic due to a danger that she might flee and a possibility that her release to liberty would lead to a real threat to public order.

Upholding the Brcko District Prosecution’s motion, the Court ordered two-month extension of custody that may last until March 20, 2012. Ilic filed a complaint to the decision with the Appellate Court of Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but her complaint was rejected.

Monika Ilic is suspected of having participated in a series of crimes committed against non-Serb detainees in Luka detention camp in Brcko in 1992.

Ilic was arrested in the Prijedor area in December last year and transferred to the Brcko District. After the Court had rendered a custody order, the suspect was transferred to the Penal and Correctional Facility in Bijeljina.M.A.
